About Me

Director/Principal Physiotherapist

Hi, I’m Sandra, the curly-haired paediatric physiotherapist behind The Curly Paeds Physio!

With a Master’s degree in Advanced Paediatric Physiotherapy Practice and experience across both the public and private sectors—including the NDIS—I bring a well-rounded and deeply personal approach to every family I work with. I have a strong passion for infant physiotherapy and love supporting babies and young children as they develop the foundational skills they need to thrive.

I’m particularly passionate about assistive technology (AT)—not just prescribing it, but ensuring it truly fits each child’s unique needs, promotes comfort, and supports their participation in all aspects of daily life. My approach is guided by the WHO-ICF model and built on a deep belief that every child deserves the opportunity to move confidently, play joyfully, and live fully.

I started The Curly Paeds Physio because I wanted to build genuine, long-lasting relationships with families—offering consistent care, direct communication, and the freedom to provide services in the way I believe is most impactful. For me, it’s not just about therapy—it’s about creating a space where children feel seen, supported, and celebrated every step of the way.

When I’m not working with kids, you’ll find me enjoying time with my two furry friends, planning creative therapy sessions, or sipping coffee with curls bouncing in the breeze!

Our Services

Home and Community Visits

We provide therapy in the comfort of your child's home. This allows us to work on goals that are meaningful for your family's routines and everyday life, such as mobility around the house, participation in mealtimes, dressing skills, or navigating stairs.

We also offer sessions at kindergartens, schools, playgrounds, and other community settings. Working in your child's natural environment helps children develop and generalize their skills where they need them most — supporting confidence, independence, and participation alongside their peers.

Assistive Technology

We are passionate about ensuring every child has the right tools to participate fully in daily activities, whether at home, school, or in the community.

We provide expert assessment, recommendations, and support for a wide range of assistive technology (AT):

Seating and Positioning Equipment (eg. standing frames or activity chairs)
Mobility Aids (eg. walking frames)
Daily Living Aids (eg. shower commodes)
Community Access Supports (Eg. wheelchairs)
Therapy and Play Equipment (eg. adaptive bikes).

Aquatic Therapy

Water offers a fun, supportive, and engaging environment for children to explore movement and build confidence. Aquatic therapy can help improve strength, coordination, balance, and motor planning while reducing the impact of gravity. Whether splashing, floating, or reaching for toys, sessions are tailored to each child’s goals – all while having a great time in the pool!

Telehealth

Therapy that comes to you – wherever you are. Telehealth allows us to connect with families through video calls, providing support, guidance, and therapy strategies from the comfort of your home. It’s a flexible and effective way to check in, problem-solve challenges, and keep your child’s therapy goals on track – even when in-person sessions aren’t possible.Name

Infants and toddlers

Supporting early development through movement, play, and positioning in the first years of life.

E.g. delayed milestones, torticollis, plagiocephaly, or prematurity.

Developmental Delays

Helping children who are not meeting expected motor milestones to build strength, coordination, and confidence.

E.g. late sitting, crawling, or walking without a known diagnosis.

Neurological conditions

Providing therapy to support motor skills, movement control, and participation.
